Customer ID Program - CIP

Problem   Solution

In banking, when a new customer provides photo ID, an image of the ID is often maintained for the bank's records. This copy of the driver’s license, along with other photo ID and application forms with sensitive data like addresses and employment data along with signature cards. Once you have scanned the documents, you would likely have the scanned image as a part of the customer records on the PC that controls your scanner.

Consider a small branch bank – perhaps in a grocery store, perhaps in a small shopping plaza. The store or bank is burgled, and your branch bank equipment is stolen, including all of the customer records you have scanned onto the PC. The thief now has access to all of that customer information.

You may also have other sensitive customer documents such as loan applications that need to be sent to another branch or to your main bank for review and approval.

OSC was asked to provide a solution.

The ScanFront 220P.

It has the following features that make it very well suited for the CIP application.

Network connected – No connection to the local PC, which means no files left on the local PC.

Small footprint – Approximately 9” by 12”, which saves valuable counter space.

Highly secure before you scan – The ScanFront 220P uses fingerprint identification or username and password to validate your user.

Highly secure as you scan – A user can scan to any location permitted by their profile, and restrictions are set by the administrator. All scans are logged.

Highly secure after you scan – At the end of each scanning operation, a secure memory wipe clears the scanning memory, so no files or images are left.

Very flexible – The ScanFront can scan single sided, double sided with blank page dropout, color or black and white, 100 dots per inch all the way to 600 dots per inch.

Very easy to use – The touchscreen is used for most scanning applications, and you can set up job buttons that allow you to scan to shared folders, FTP sites, e-mail or any combination of the three. You can also scan to a USB flash drive for items you do not wish to send over the network, or if you are working remotely.

Very easy to administer – Your site or network administrator can set up the ScanFront 220P from a central location, view the logs, and set or adjust the user’s capabilities from the central site.
