The portable CD-4070NW uses a high-speed duplexing scanner with an automatic document feeder. Each individual document or group of documents can be easily indexed just like putting indexing information on the label of a file folder but this indexing becomes part of a computerized index that can be searched, sorted, manipulated, etc. The "electronic" file folders and the indexing and image of all the scanned documents are automatically stored either on a network or on inexpensive CD-Rs. Each CD-R costs less than $1.00 but can store up to 20,000 pages (based on LTR CCITT no. 1 chart.)

Duplicate CD-Rs for security (backup) and/or distribution to multiple users can be quickly and inexpensively made with this product. The indexing and images on each CD can be easily retrieved on any computer that uses any version of Windows and has a CD drive. Prints can easily be made using the printer connected to the computer. There is no new software to buy or learn because this product uses the image viewer that comes with Windows.
