In
computing weight loads, consideration must be given to the dedicated
square foot area for a given type of file storage unit. Otherwise,
most filing systems would exceed floor load capacities. In addition, a
file storage unit cannot be used without access space. Therefore, this
space, which must be clear and empty, becomes part of the dedicated space
for the particular storage unit.
